| Critical Care Transport Ambulance for FACT |
18 Jun |
Many custom “Built for Life” ambulance models leave our plant each month, but it’s nice to stop and highlight those units that stand out among the others. Such is the case with the recently delivered Super Chief Type I ambulance to Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, Vermont. The unit was designed to handle any type of medical transport imaginable and meet the particular requirements of Fletcher Allen Health Care.
Mounted on a 2012 International 4400 DuraStar chassis, this emergency vehicle will assist Fletcher Allen Health Care in providing highly specialized critical care transport service to patients who require transfer for advanced care at other hospitals. The unit will join others in a fleet of specially equipped ambulances and skilled personnel with Fletch Allen Coordinated Transport (FACT). FACT is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has served nearly 10,000 patients since it began 1995.
Additional images of the FACT unit can be found here on our website.
The Super Chief Type I ambulance is the first Braun in FACT’s fleet. However, they have three units built on the International DuraStar chassis. When asked why they chose Braun Industries to build their new ambulance, Ryan Ferris of FACT had the following to say:
“Our service cares for every type of patient, in every type of medical situation that could be imagined – from bariatric patients, to neonates, and anything in between. Our requirements were broad in the respect that we need to reconfigure the truck to accommodate those types of patient populations appropriately and provide adequate patient care safely and efficiently. We have to facilitate these transports all from one vehicle. When choosing Braun, it essentially came down to the fact that there was no design challenge that we threw at them that they were not able to facilitate for us. The quality and craftsmanship of Braun was unparalleled to other units we looked at and also weighed heavily on our decision.”
Congratulations on your new Super Chief Fletcher Allen Health Care. We hope it serves you well for many years to come, no matter the type of transport you’re providing!
