Summary of Responsibilities
The Line Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations and leading a team to maintain high standards of quality while meeting departmental objectives. This role involves guiding team performance, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and quality excellence. Strong leadership, clear communication, and a commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality outcomes are essential for aligning team efforts with organizational goals.

Lead initiatives to improve processes, efficiency and quality through data-driven decision making and continuous improvement practices | |
Communicates production schedule and other related information to team leaders and department employees | |
Monitor individual and team performance, set clear goals and conduct regular performance reviews and coaching sessions | |
Provide direct leadership, supervision and support to a team, fostering a positive, productive and quality focused work environment | |
Backs up other Line Managers as needed | |
Actively supports Mission, Vision and Values. Holds employees accountable for behavior to support MVV | |
Safety | Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within the team by setting a positive example and reinforcing safe work practices |
Ensure all team members follow company safety policies, procedures and regulatory requirements | |
Conduct daily safety checks for the work area, equipment and tools to identify and address potential hazards | |
Immediately report safety incidents, near-misses and unsafe conditions to EH&S and assist in investigations as needed | |
Verify all team members are always using required personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly | |
Support new employee safety orientation and ongoing safety training for the team | |
Encourage and support team participation in safety improvement initiatives and hazard reporting programs | |
Regularly review and reinforce safe operating procedures and best practices on the production floor | |
Lead or participate in safety meetings and debriefings to keep safety top of mind | |

Responsible for the development of standardized work practices for the line | |

Coordinates work-in process planning and final release to down stream operations | |
Establishes 5S plans to maintain good housekeeping | |
Anticipates and determines causes of delays in operations and takes appropriate action to meet schedules | |
Communicate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams to align priorities, quality metrics and performance goals | |
Workforce Management | Conducts introductory and quarterly performance reviews for employees and recommends increases, retraining, transfers and/or terminations |
Prepares for and actively participates in daily production meetings | |

Recommends the employment and separation of employees are required | |
