SOLIDBODY™ CONSTRUCTION

A SUPERIOR AMBULANCE MANUFACTURING PROCESS

It’s our SolidBody™ Construction that makes Braun ambulances unlike any other ambulance on the market. Through this process, our ambulances are built as one integrated module. Using .125″ flat-sheet, marine grade aluminum, the floor, roof, sides and doors are all constructed from brake formed parts with fully welded seams. Since there is no separate extruded frame, SolidBody™ Construction reduces weight and adds strength, providing many significant advantages. In the event of an accident, the one integrated module helps absorb impact, minimizes transferred damage, and provides added safety.

WE DON'T JUST SAY OUR SOLIDBODY™ CONSTRUCTION MAKES OUR AMBULANCES THE SAFEST. WE HAVE THE CRASH TESTING DATA TO PROVE IT.

In 2016, were the first ambulance manufacturer to conduct a rollover module crash test. To this day, we are still the only ambulance manufacturer to complete a side impact and rollover crash test on the same unit. Meaning, we first hit the ambulance with an F-150 traveling at 40 mph, then rolled it in a dynamic testing process. By simulating a true-to-life traffic collision, we have the test data to confirm our modules are the safest for occupant safety.

NO ONE ELSE IN THE INDUSTRY BUILDS AN AMBULANCE THIS WAY.

Precision engineering and quality begin with 3D modeling software and computer controlled routers, punch machines and brake presses ensuring all components are manufactured to close tolerances for exceptional stability and durability in our ambulance bodies.

In our design, special attention is given to the floor design and construction to increase safety and strength of the module. Floor laterals are .190″ aluminum with full side lateral weld seams and cross braces. Reinforcement plates for chassis mount, cot hardware and attendant seat installation are added for increased safety.

Our arched roof design allows for more internal headroom, adds strength to the module roof, and eliminates water and snow pooling. Roof braces overlap with full length side rails to create exceptional strength and safety. We are the only ambulance manufacturer that builds an arched roof this way; it’s not just a visual distinction for a Braun ambulance, it’s a symbol of superior structural integrity.

Braun SolidBody™ ambulances offer a smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride. The module design provides a very low center of gravity and exceptional balance across the axles. This enables the vehicle to hug the road and stop smoothly and evenly. During the ambulance manufacturing process, sprayed-on foam insulation in the ceiling, walls, doors, and the entire underside of the body provides acoustical and thermal insulation to eliminate road and environment noises.

SolidBody™ Construction is lighter and stronger so you can carry more personnel, more patients, and more gear!
