Summary of Responsibilities

The Process Engineer will drive Lean focused process and quality improvements throughout the production operations. This role will collaborate with design engineering, production, quality assurance, and subject matter experts to determine best practices, process documentation, training, and quality focused improvements. The Process Engineer will facilitate and lead dynamic team driven projects to build capable and robust products and processes while assisting in the development of a highly skilled and empowered workforce.

Summary of Activities

Responsibilities Activities
Process Improvements • Drive Lean focused initiatives and production system development • Lead and facilitate Lean initiatives, projects, and kaizen • Identify, develop and implement robust safety, quality and process improvements • Develop and implement error proofing techniques, devices and process controls
Communication • Identify, communicate, and eliminate bottlenecks to maximize production capacities. • Develop process documentation including one-point lessons, visual aids, work instructions and training. • Coordinate and facilitate process improvements with manufacturing leadership and personnel
Operations • Support successful launch of new products, processes, materials and process improvements • Collect, interpret and act upon data from technical and manufacturing sources. • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Leadership • Promote and drive collaboration and teamwork to achieve objectives

Technical Skills/Competencies (Technical Knowledge, Education and Experience)

  • Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering preferred, or other relevant degree and/or experience
  • 5 or more years of work experience in a manufacturing environment functioning as a Process and/or Continuous Improvement Engineer including experience as a co-op and/or intern
  • Knowledge and direct application of Continuous Improvement methodologies and tools, i.e. Lean, PDCA, 6 Sigma and TOC, and proven track record thereof.
  • Knowledgeable in computer skills (CAD systems, Microsoft software, Internet and email)
