Summary of Responsibilities
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and promoting a culture of safety at Braun Industries. This role involves identifying potential hazards, developing and implementing safety policies and procedures, conducting training sessions, and monitoring safety performance.

Regulatory Compliance | * Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal health, safety, and environmental regulations. * Stay updated on changes to regulations and ensure company practices align with legal requirements. |
Safety Policies and Procedures | * Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures. * Conduct regular reviews and revisions of safety protocols to ensure effectiveness and relevance. |
Safety Training and Education | *Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees on topics such as hazardous materials handling, machine safety, emergency response procedures, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage. * Develop training materials and resources to support ongoing safety education initiatives. * Participate in Van Wert Safety Council monthly meetings. • Prepare toolbox talks to communicate safety guidelines, best practices and updates monthly. • Facilitate safety orientation training and company trainings as required. |
Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment | * Identify potential safety hazards through regular inspections and risk assessments and JSAs. * Develop and implement measures to mitigate risks and prevent accidents or injuries. |
Incident Investigation and Reporting | * Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions. *Maintain accurate records of incidents, injuries, and safety-related activities and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required. |
Emergency Preparedness | * Develop and implement emergency response plans, including procedures for fires, chemical spills, and other emergencies. * Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans. |
Environmental Management | * Monitor and manage environmental aspects of the manufacturing facility, including waste management, pollution prevention, and sustainability initiatives. * Implement measures to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. |
Safety Audits and Inspections | * Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of the manufacturing facility to identify hazards, assess compliance with safety standards, and recommend corrective actions. * Follow up on corrective actions to ensure timely implementation. |
Collaboration and Communication | * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and management, to address safety concerns and promote a culture of safety. * Communicate safety-related information effectively to employees, management, and external stakeholders. |
