Chief XL with EZ Door Forward

Over the years, one of the biggest factors that has set us apart as an ambulance manufacturer has been the introduction of signature innovations, such as our SolidBody ConstructionEZ Glide Door,  and MasterTech Electrical System. This year at FDIC, we will be proudly unveil a new ambulance design configuration called the EZ Door Forward. Make sure to stop by Booth #4731 to check it out!

We are always looking at new ways to build a safer ambulance module, while simultaneously creating more work room and storage within the box. The EZ Door Forward is a significant design change whereby we’ve incorporated the EZ Glide Sliding Door to a forward location to allow for more interior cabinet space and customization. By incorporating the sliding door into this design configuration, it promotes safe entry and exit into the ambulance module and protects crew members from accidentally opening the door into traffic while on-scene. Additionally, it improves the interior layout for patient care by positioning the essential life care equipment within easy reach from the 5-point seating locations.

At FDIC 2012, the EZ Door Forward will be displayed on a Chief XL Type III ambulance on a Chevy G-4500 chassis. This is a 169″ module with 72″ headroom. Aside from the new door, this ambulance cabinetry has a safety design to remove any hard edges with angled upper cabinets providing a StayAway Zone and rounded corners for lower body protection. Other features include the Whelen LED Series Lighting Package, Rollup Door, EVS 5-Point Harness CPR Seat, easy access equipment drawers, and all aluminum cabinets.

This unit will be coming out of production just before FDIC 2012, so if you stop by Booth #4731 you will be one of the first to see this new design layout. We hope to see you there!
