We are so excited for the series premier of NIGHTWATCH this evening. The new A & E series will debut at 10/9 c (January 22, 2015) and has the first responder community buzzing. Here at Braun Industries, we are particularly looking forward to tuning in. The show will feature stories from New Orleans Emergency Medical Services, a Braun customer. Viewers will be able to see our ambulances in action as first responders carry out their critical job responsibilities on the night shift.

From Executive Producer Dick Wolf and 44 Blue Productions, each hour-long episode will follow elite teams of NOLA first responders on duty overnight. In the premier episode, EMTs respond to a man bleeding in the street from multiple gunshot wounds, firefighters encounter a case of suspected arson, and another team of EMTs arrive at a car accident scene where the driver refuses to admit he’s on drugs. The fast-paced, high-drama docu-reality show promises to deliver incredible stories of emergency responders risking their lives to work the busiest and most unnerving shift of the day.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing New Orleans EMS and our fellow first responder agencies featured in NIGHTWATCH,” says Lt. Liz Belcher, NREMT-B of the New Orleans EMS Community Outreach and Public Information Office. “We think it stands as a testament to the phenomenal job our crews perform every single day, and we hope that the series is enjoyed by everyone.”

New Orleans EMS has over 20 Braun ambulances in their fleet. The units were sold by local dealer, Lone Star Emergency Vehicles, with the first of them delivered two years ago at the Super Bowl. The ambulances are custom Liberty models, built specifically for the streets of New Orleans with LiquidSpring™ suspension on them. They were built on an extended cab Ford F450 with custom console and back seat lockers, along with radio and computer installation with GPS and telemetry.  They also include a custom Whelen LED lighting package inside and out, all aluminum cabinetry, and an EZ Glide Door.

“We are so pleased to see New Orleans Emergency Medical Services featured in the upcoming NIGHTWATCH series,” says Chad Brown, Braun Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “NOLA operates one of the busiest EMS departments in the country. Their ambulances are on emergency calls for service 70-75% of the time, so they have to perform. When designing their units, we followed a detailed set of bid specifications to meet the unique challenges faced in their tough urban environment. Now, two years after delivery of their initial units, we are looking forward to getting a behind-the-scenes look at these ambulances in action. NIGHTWATCH will give us this rare opportunity and we are excited to see NOLA’s EMS crews rise to the occasion.”
